Our Misson
Through hands-on activity in a working 1940's shop, we teach and preserve the ancient art of printing with movable type. At the Yakima Letterpress Museum, we offer visitors a unique chance to experience a REAL 1900's letterpress.
The Yakima Letterpress Museum is located within the Central Washington Agriculture Museum in Union Gap. Click below to find out more.I am the type
Of my earliest ancestry neither history nor relics remain.
With the olden vision of Gutenberg, the profound art of printing with movable type was born.
Cold, rigid and implaceable I may be, yet the first impress of my face brought the Divine Word to countless thousands.
I bring into the light of day the prcious stores of knowledge and wisdom long hidden in the grave of ignorance.
I am the leaden army that conquers the world. I am the type!
